Pop Art is an art movement that originated in England in the 1950s.
The movement is most characterised by the role of the consumer society and distortions it creates in our daily behaviour.
American artists have subsequently highlighted the influence that advertising, magazines, comic books and television have on the decisions we make as consumers.

The processes and products used by the artists were often new creations of the consumer society, including acrylic and screen printing.
The colours used are bright and intentionally out of line with reality. |
